Yes, it is true that many articles are accessible online due to digitization, but the fact remains that there are still a huge number of students who are not familiar with this in countries like India. Also, how many of them are actually available which you don’t have to pay for? I am a masters student, and I am telling this from my personal experience and observations. Most of the articles on JSTOR, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, SpringerLink etc. are not free. Even though the articles are one google-search away, practically, a large chunk of the entire student population across the world are yet to get access (more importantly, free access) to these reservoirs of digitized knowledge.
