Dr Ra Jes Chelliah

Dr Ra Jes Chelliah is an educationist enhancing literacy in university programs, a linguist specialising in designing academic English learning and teaching programs, and a researcher in empirical investigations on spoken and written language competencies, concepts and theories. She works to identify projects for enhancing community cohesion, equity and engagement with objectives of promoting mutual respect and trust in the current environment of fear and distrust. Dr Chelliah is a researcher in qualitative and quantitative research projects involving local and foreign participation, and advocates for leveraging public libraries as platforms for engaging local communities, for social engineering strategies, and for building social capital.. She recently completed the PhD thesis “Community Building, Multiculturalism and the Suburban Public Library”.
