This podcast is part of the Because You Need to Know series from Pioneer Knowledge Services.
The KM Lobby PKS Incredible Edition is a program of Pioneer Knowledge Services hosted by Ginetta Gueli, Monica Danese-Perrin, and Edwin K. Morris M.S.
In this KM Lobby PKS Incredible Edition, hear from CILIP President Paul Corney about the CILIP KM Chartership initiative and the pathway to professional standards and accreditation for knowledge managers. CILIP is the UK’s library and information association, and has been taking a leading role in supporting the global knowledge management (KM) community.
Paul Corney’s career spans more than five decades. In that time, he has maintained a portfolio of activities working at senior and board level across a range of industries and geographical locations: finance, development / third sector, energy, government / public sector, information management, knowledge management, law, leisure, retail, and software.
Paul comments that::
In 2017 in ‘Navigating the Minefield: A Practical KM Companion’ I noted inter alia that to achieve corporate legitimacy, KM professionals would benefit from the introduction of a set of universal standards plus recognized practitioner led accreditation. I was pleased to have been a member of the BSI Committee that contributed to the development and publication of the ISO KM Standards 30401 and the CILIP project board overseeing the development of the Knowledge Management Chartership accreditation.
The KM Lobby PKS Incredible Edition and Because You Need to Know podcasts of Pioneer Knowledge Services are proudly supported by RealKM Magazine. Like the RealKM Cooperative, Pioneer Knowledge Services is a not-for-profit organization.
